We all know that sex is something that most humans want. While it is not mandated and there are some people who just don’t feel the urge to have sex, there are those who just really need it. Lately, people have decried the hookup culture and how it’s going to end up being the end of relationships as we know it, the people who are having the hookups see it differently. There is more freedom in the way we date today. While there are still some dating rituals and rules that you need to keep in mind, for the most part we are able to date freely.

The internet has made dating even easier as we are able to connect to each other through the touch of a phone or through the keyboard of a computer. For Cougars and Cubs both, this is a good thing.

So is, we would argue, the hookup culture.

Why is the hookup culture so good for Cubs? For one, it allows them get more experience without settling down. Sometimes, after all, a cub just won’t want to settle down until they have to. There are a lot of experiences that both Cougars and Cubs alike won’t want to miss and the hookup culture allows Cubs to get their needs fulfilled while also not feeling like they’re missing out on any thing or tying themselves down too soon.

It also allows Cougars to do the same and while detractors of the hookup culture would talk about loneliness, they’re not seeing the whole of it. The fact is that hookup culture doesn’t mean that you don’t have close ties with other people. You still have your friends, the people that you’re hooking up with could also be people who are important to you. The key to hookup culture isn’t one night stands, but the dismantling of the traditional view of relationships.

It encourages more openness and directness about what both cougars and cubs are looking for. It also allows for people to have more experience with sex and that makes us into better lovers generally. While some would argue that the hookup culture increases the chance of getting a disease, it makes more sense that the spread of disease has less to do with hookup culture and more to do with not practicing safe sex.

For Cubs, the hookup culture is something to be enjoyed. You don’t need to feel the same stress to maintain a relationship as you might otherwise, which is good for both Cubs and Cougars. After all, we’re still growing as people and less rules/structure around dating means that we get to expand our own boundaries.
